Each group generally contains one or more individual FAA tests. For example, our GroundSchool — Private Pilot title includes tests such as:
- Private Pilot Airplane
- Private Pilot Helicopter
- Private Pilot Glider
- Private Pilot Gyroplane
- ...and several more.
When you install GroundSchool — Private Pilot on the device or platform of your choice, you select the particular test you want to study for — for example, Private Pilot Airplane. GroundSchool then filters the learning content so that you are presented with the questions our editors have determined are applicable to that specific test.
No digging through irrelevant material. No guessing which questions apply to you. GroundSchool does the filtering for you.
You can also switch between tests within the same product group whenever you wish. For example, after studying for Private Pilot Airplane, you could later switch to Private Pilot Glider without purchasing another Private Pilot GroundSchool title.
In practice, most customers prepare for only one test within a particular group. One common exception is flight instructor candidates, who may need to prepare for the FOI (Fundamentals of Instructing) knowledge test as well as a test such as FIA (Flight Instructor Airplane). GroundSchool makes it easy to switch between the applicable tests whenever you need to.
